Some Of The Great Things About Real Estate Agents

Real Estate Blog

If you are selling your home, you should have a real estate agent. Selling your home on your own is hard, time consuming, and you rarely end up saving the money you intended to because it can take longer to sell the home and you might incur a lot of expenses. Here are some of the reasons why a real estate agent will be your best bet.

Real estate agents are efficient

How would you go about selling your home on your own? You may pay for ads in the local papers, post information about your home on your social media pages, put a 'For Sale by Owner" sign up in the yard, and ask family and friends to spread the word to anyone looking for a home.

The main problem with this is a lot of your efforts won't let the right people know about your home. You may even get people who want to look at it, but they will likely either be looking out of curiosity or they won't be able to obtain a loan.

When you have a real estate agent, they know the best ways to advertise your home. They won't waste resources because they will hit the right demographics and they know how to spot serious buyers, so no one's time is wasted. For example, many real estate agents require someone to have pre-approval letters before they will show them properties, and this lets them know the people are both interested in buying now and that they have the means to do so.

Real estate agents free you up

When you are selling your home, you'll have a lot of things to do for yourself and your own family. You may need to look for a home to purchase. If you are moving out of the area, then this may mean you have to do some traveling. You'll also have things to move, appointments to make, and new accounts to set up in the area you are relocating to.

The more you have to do, the less time you would have to show your home, and this will make it even harder for you to get it sold. The longer you keep the home, the longer you will have money you could use tied up, and you will still need to spend money on the mortgage and utilities.

A real estate agent will take over all of the tasks associated with selling your home, so it gets sold faster and without you needing to be present.

Sarah's Renting Tips

Although I've never worked professionally in the real estate business, I sure know my way around it. How, do you ask? Well, I have simply rented a lot of different places and worked with a lot of different landlords and real estate agents. In the past 7 years I've lived in 11 different houses or apartments, none of them my own. In finding those 11, I have looked at literally hundreds of apartments. I used to hate house hunting, but now it's kind of fun. You just need to know what you want and the right questions to ask. Hopefully this blog can help you learn some of the tricks of the trade from another renter like yourself.
